Welcome

Welcome to my website. My name is Austin Godber. I have a bachelors in Physics from Arizona State University. I am a Linux geek by day … and not surprisingly a linux geek by night. I have worked for a DARPA sponsored computer security project, helped start a Municipal WiFi company, assisted NASA’s Mars Spaceflight Facility in surviving the Slashdot effect and am now wrangling virtual penguins for JumpBox.

VMWare on Ubuntu Hardy

Both the latest VMWare Server 1.0.6 build-91891 and VMWare Workstation 6.0.4 build-93057 install with no trouble on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. There is one small catch with the vmware-server-console, however. I came across an Ubuntu Forums thread that resolves that issue though. All you have to do is move a few included libraries out of the way and it will start just fine using the OS provided libs.

This is a Webgen generated site. Webgen appeals to the geek in me since it allows me to do a little coding/tweaking of components to make the site work they way I want it, but just do simple markup when I only want to bother with content. So lets see how it goes.
